Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how TrueCalcu ("we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you visit truecalcu.com (the "Site"). We designed the Site to collect as little personal information as possible.
1. Information we collect
a) Information you type into calculators
Calculations run in your web browser. The numbers you enter (income, loan amounts, dates and so on) are not sent to our servers and are not stored by us. We record only an anonymous count that a calculator was used.
b) Information you send us
If you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message. We use this only to respond to you and keep it for up to 24 months, unless a longer period is required by law.
c) Usage statistics (first-party, cookieless)
Our own analytics system records the page visited, the date and time, the referring website, the device type (desktop/mobile/tablet), the browser language and, if provided by our network, the country. We do not store your IP address and do not use cookies for our own analytics. To count unique daily visitors, we create a one-way, salted hash that changes every day and cannot be used to identify you or track you across days. Statistics are deleted after 14 months.
d) Server logs
Our hosting provider may automatically keep technical logs (including IP addresses) for security and troubleshooting for a short period.
e) Advertising and cookies from third parties
We use Google AdSense to display ads. Google and its partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Learn how Google uses data: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Opt out of personalized advertising from Google: Google Ads Settings.
- Opt out of personalized ads from many third-party vendors: aboutads.info (U.S.) and youradchoices.ca (Canada).
If we enable Google Analytics, it may also set cookies to measure site usage. See our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How we use information
- To operate, maintain, secure and improve the Site and its calculators;
- To understand which tools are useful (aggregate statistics only);
- To respond to your messages;
- To display advertising that funds the Site;
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly use sensitive personal information.
3. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Site (such as our hosting provider and email provider), with advertising partners as described above, when required by law, or in connection with a business transfer.
4. Your privacy choices
- Personalized ads opt-out: use the "Your Privacy Choices" link at the bottom of every page. When you opt out, we request non-personalized ads from Google.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): we treat a GPC signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
5. United States residents (state privacy rights)
Residents of California and of other states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana and others) may have the right to: know what personal information we collect and how it is used; access and obtain a copy of it; correct it; delete it; and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising and of profiling. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Categories collected in the past 12 months: identifiers (such as name and email, only if you contact us; online identifiers used by advertising partners); internet or other electronic network activity (pages viewed, referrer); approximate geolocation (country). Sources: you, your device and our advertising partners. Purposes: those listed in Section 2. Disclosure of online identifiers to advertising partners for targeted advertising may be considered "sharing" or "selling" under some laws; you can opt out at any time using "Your Privacy Choices". We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
To exercise your rights, email 99piksel@gmail.com. We will verify your request using the information you provide and respond within the time required by law (generally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision; if the appeal is denied you may contact your state attorney general.
6. Canadian residents (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25)
We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, for residents of Quebec, the Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector as amended by Law 25. You may request access to, or correction of, your personal information, withdraw consent, and ask questions about our practices. The person responsible for the protection of personal information is our Privacy Officer, reachable at 99piksel@gmail.com. Your information may be processed outside your province or outside Canada (for example, by Google in the United States) and may be accessible to authorities in those jurisdictions. You may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Quebec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.
7. Visitors from the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland (GDPR)
Our Site is intended for users in the United States and Canada. If you visit from the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, ads are served only after you make a choice through a Google-certified consent management platform. Our legal bases are consent (advertising cookies), legitimate interests (security, cookieless aggregate statistics) and, where relevant, responding to your request. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection, and you may withdraw consent at any time and lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
8. Turkey (KVKK)
Where the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") applies, TrueCalcu acts as the data controller. Personal data (contact details you send us and online identifiers) is processed for the purposes described in this policy, based on the legal grounds in Articles 5 and 6 of KVKK (explicit consent for advertising cookies; legitimate interest and performance of a request for other processing). Data may be transferred abroad to our hosting and advertising service providers in accordance with Article 9 of KVKK. Under Article 11 of KVKK you may learn whether your data is processed, request information, request correction or deletion, object to results arising from automated analysis and claim compensation for damages. Send requests to 99piksel@gmail.com.
9. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where required by law) and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Security and retention
We use HTTPS encryption, access controls and minimal data collection to protect information. Contact messages are retained for up to 24 months; aggregate statistics for up to 14 months.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
